چکیده
BACKGROUND Cerebral infarction caused by different reasons seems differ in fibrinogen levels, so the current work intends to explore the relationship between the fibrinogen level and subtypes of the TOAST criteria in the acute stage of ischemic stroke. METHODS A total of 577 case research objects were treated acute ischemic stroke patients in our hospital from December 2008 to December 2010, and blood samples within 72 hours of the onset were processed with the fibrinogen (PT-der) measurement. Classification of selected patients according to the TOAST Criteria was conducted to study the distribution of fibrinogen levels in the stroke subtypes. RESULTS The distribution of fibrinogen levels in the subtypes was observed to be statistically insignificant. CONCLUSIONS In the acute stage of ischemic stroke, fibrinogen level was not related to the subtypes of the TOAST criteria.

Evaluation of Homocysteine Level as a Risk Factor among Patients with Ischemic Stroke and Its Subtypes
Background: Epidemiological research has shown that increased total homocysteine (tHcy) levels are associated with an increased risk of thromboembolic disease; however, controversy still exists over which subtype of stroke is allied to hyperhomocysteinemia. This study aimed to investigate whether elevated tHcy is an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke and to compare tHcy levels in patie...
متن کاملThe Relation between GABA and L-Arginine Levels with some Stroke Risk Factors in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients
Changes in extra and intracellular neurotransmitter amino acids concentration in the early stage of acute cerebral ischemia have been reported. In this the study, serum level of gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) and L-Arginine in acute ischemic stroke patients was assessed. 60 patients with acute ischemic stroke and sixthy healthy volunteers as a control group were assessed. Serum GABA was measure...
متن کاملAssociation between Serum Uric Acid Level and Stenosis in Atherothrombotic Infarction
Background: Previous studies show that serum level of uric acid is significantly correlated with mortality and functional outcome in patients with ischemic stroke and according to some other studies, ischemic stroke is associated with stenosis of some stenoisis of somespecific brain vessels. The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency of hyperuricemia and its associa...

The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of the serum biochemical markers high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), D-dimer (DD) and fibrinogen (Fg) in differentiating etiological subtypes of ischemic stroke. This study was a retrospective case-only study, consecutively including patients with acute ischemic stroke. All patients were classified into subtypes using the TOAS...
